A personal thank you from me!

The perfect sunset to the end of an amazing weekend of shows…

This weekend has been a fabulous success! I want to thank everyone involved in their contribution to making ‘The Blue Bottle’ an excellent theatre experience for the children and families.  We saw four shows this weekend from the Junior AliCaT’s and I am so proud of all their achievements.

I personally would like to thank Shaun Batt for his amazing set, photography, filming of the show and encouragement throughout the whole process, Susie Pain for her hard work and dedication to the children and me, Fiona and Pearl Milton for their help and support and Mary Gould, Connie Gould, John Jones, Mum and Dad for their full commitment to the whole weekend.  I am so happy and so thankful to everyone involved!

‘The Blue Bottle’ Junior Preparations

Final preparations have begun for the forthcoming Junior production of ‘The Blue Bottle’.  It’s a magical musical story, loosely based on an Irish folk tale about luck, greed and folly.

The poverty stricken Riley family are reduced to selling their last cow.  On his way to market John Riley meets a mysterious Stranger and exchanges his cow for an enchanted Blue Bottle.  His wife, Kate and the children are furious until the Bottle is tried out and magical Sprites appear with a marvellous feast.  However this good fortune does not turn out to be the end to all misery…come find out what happens!

Tickets are selling fast so be quick!

The Easter holidays have meant one thing to me… time to prepare for the next children’s show… ‘There’s a Sunflower in my Supper’ by AliCaT Foundation children…

It has been such fun creating such a beautiful set (designed by Shaun Batt), bright and cheery lighting (designed by Sam Riddiford, RADA) and costumes (made by Sarah Cunningham, www.thelittlevonsewcompany.co.uk) .I cannot wait for the children to see it for the first time here at our fabulous venue, Backwell Playhouse!

Here’s a sneaky look…
